About ACNA

ACNA provides comprehensive services while promoting advanced training and credentialing of personnel, exceptional support of experts who are leaders in the field of anticoagulation and access to ongoing anticoagulation clinical research.

Anticoagulation Clinics of North America (ACNA) provide anticoagulation therapy (blood-thinning medication) management for patients who are receiving medications used to prevent harmful and unwanted blood clots (thrombosis) from forming, such as warfarin (Coumadin®). ACNA was founded in 1994 to assist physicians and patients in optimizing the use and safety of anticoagulation therapies.

Our clinics are located in San Antonio, TX, New Braunfels, TX, Boerne, TX and Uvalde, TX.  Patients remain under the care of their primary physician while receiving their anticoagulation therapy management by one of our specialized clinicians. Written dosing instructions are provided to each patient so that the patient stays within the desired therapeutic range, and timely reports are provided to the patient's own physician. Studies have shown that when patients stay within the desired therapeutic range, they are less likely to suffer serious complications of their disease.

OUR MISSION

Our mission is to provide individualized high-quality anticoagulation therapy management by our specialized clinicians, provide fast and accurate laboratory testing, and to thoroughly educate patients and inform their physicians about their care.
