“Stay Cool with Foods”—Public Invited to Free Nutrition Seminars in August
Cancer Care Centers of South Texas is presenting a free nutrition seminar on “Stay Cool with Foods.” It is open to the public free of charge. Barbra Swanson, N.D., R.D., L.D., and registered dietitian for Cancer Care Centers of South Texas,will prepare and share the recipe for Spinach Salad with Citrus Fruit. This colorful and healthy salad can be assembled in less than 10 minutes. It has many phytochemicals, plant compounds that are effective in fighting cancer. The recipe is low in overall fat, but contains a healthy dose of “good fats.” It also provides the suggested seven to nine servings of fruits and veggies, which helps reduce the risk of cancer, heart disease and diabetes.
